DRUM CORPS TRAVELING IN EAST TENNESSEE MAY BE ABLE TO GET ASSISTANCE FROM US.
(SEE NOTES in the next column to the right). We may not be Active but the "Spirit" insists that we still do what we can to assist others.
---------------------------------
The PRESIDENTS was Tennessee's first Drum and Bugle Corps and was initially
formed in 1950.
The Corps has participated in numerous drum and bugle
corps contests, two Presidential Inaugural parades, several
Gubernatorial parades, and many special parades and exhibitions.
The PRESIDENTS
placed eighth, seventh, and fourth in three National Drum and Bugle
Corps contests.
The PRESIDENTS deactivated in 1972, but
reactivated in 1999 for a few years. In 2008-09 efforts to again reactivate it were made but recruitment of enough members was insufficient to make it a viable Corps again. Still, some of us would love to see it brought back to life once more
The Corps is currently back into a deactivated status, but still plays a role periodically as a HOST to other DCA/DCI Corps who pass through our area to Regional competitions.
Some of us still maintain the hope of some day seeing the Presidents reactivated to a competitive level.
Please see our "About the PRESIDENTS" page for more historical infomation.
